Broadcast Technology 1 was a really cool class. We had many opportunities and were able to do so many things that I never thought I would get to do. We even got to go on a tour of a real news studio over at KSDK channel 5! That was awesome that we had a chance to work with them and were featured on live T.V. Though some projects were rushed and stressful, it was still a fun time. My favorite project was Six Word Story. I think it was a good opportunity to show who you are and it was a cool project to make. I would've liked to have a little more time for certain projects or just have more access to equipment at times. It was ok though. Broadcast 2 sounds fun and interesting, but it not on my schedule for next year and I might not attend Ladue. Overall, this was a class that provided many opportunities and showed us some good career path choices.
Today in class we practiced recording with natural sound. We recorded one wide angle shot of action. Then, we recorded an extreme tight shot. I then deleted the audio from the wide angle shot and replaced it with the audio from the extreme tight shot. Then i deleted the tight shot video. Natural sound is a major key in recording a good project!
Everybody has a story. i have viewed the videos and selected my top 2 favorites to blog about. Middle school football is a great, heartwarming story about a young boy named keith who has special needs. keith's dream has come true. he scored a touchdown in a real game for his middle school team in olivet, michigan. this was an all around fantastic story in every fashion.Another story I enjoyed was Boy Seeks Smiles. After two tragic losses of both of his parents, six year old Jaden was tired of seeing people sad. He set out on a mission t make people happy. To make them smile. He presented the idea to his aunt, and they went around town and Jaden gave out little toys and cute things to the people who didn't already have a smile on their face. I enjoyed this story so much because the fact that he is so young and is already trying to make people happy an as the right mature mindset is very uplifting. This was amazing!
i learned a lot about the steps and ways to interview someone through this project. i like thw way my interview turned out and i think i RECEIVED some great answers. there were a few things to improve upon though and continue to beter my work. as you continue, to interview people, it helps you develop better speaking skills and be more comfortable conversing amoung others whom you might not be most familiar. i am ready to continue interviewing and work amongst others to create the best content i can.a six word story is about you. the six words are used to describe a personal message behine your personal story. In this project, six unique camera shots were used to capture the story. There is no specific message or content you have to follow. i thin kthis project is very fascnating because you learn brand new things about you peers that you never would've known. I am ready for this project! In this project called the shooting Gallery, we practiced 19 new shots. There are actually a lot of camera angles that most people don't know about and wouldn't use. i enjoy using different camera shots and angles. My top six most used shots are probably, medium, angled, wide, depth, low, and linking. These shots are very fun to use and they make for a very cool video.Today we started learning and talking about our newest project, Conducting an Interview. There are proper ways to interview a person and certain things you need to know that will majorly help you have a great interview. Here are a few key points that every good journalist or interviewer should kn0w. Always make sure you are very close to your character or subject. Comfort them, you will get the best answers possible if they feel welcomed and comfortable. Make sure that you can clearly see both eyes in the shot. Another big thing is, make sure you ask questions that will not give you a yes or no answer. Those are the worst. They don't produce enough detail and leave you just sitting there with nothing to say. Get into detail with the questions, use the phrase "tell me" a lot. Get as much detail about a question as you can without going on and on. This project will help a lot with communication skills and make you even more comfortable having conversations with people that you might not know too well. I am excited and ready to see how it goes.
W- Wide
A- Angle L- Low L- Linking D- Depth O- Opposite WALLDO is an acronym for the above camera angle shots. It is a six shot video project where we got to practice some new, fun, and cool shots. I captured my shots in our new library at Ladue High School. After, I captured all of my shots, I used Final Cut Pro to edit and complete my video. I will upload my final video project to schooltube.com. I enjoyed this project and will continue to keep producing more content.

Ernest Hemmingway. Six word stories can store meaning or just be for a laugh. His six word story was simply, "For sale, baby shoes, never worn." There is many possible meanings behind this and they are very deep. When Earnest made his six word story, it was in the 1920s so there wasn't even a visual to go with it. I believe his child died and he was to sell the shoes of his lost child.
